Nissan Patrol Workshop Manuals and Repair Manuals
The Nissan Patrol, a tough and utilitarian fourwheel drive vehicle is a long series from Japanese automaker Nissan. The Patrol has been available as either a short-wheelbase (SWB) three-door or a long-wheelbase (LWB) five-door chassis. The LWB version has also been offered in utility and cab chassis variants alongside the wagon. Between 1988 and 1994, Ford Australia marketed the Patrol as the Ford Maverick. It is the direct competitor of Toyota Land Cruiser in Australia and New Zealand, the Middle East, Latin America, Africa, Europe, Japan, and the Caribbean. In North America, an upscale version called the Nissan Infinity competes in luxury SUV segment.
Nissan Patrol FAQ’s
How do I change the spark plugs in my Nissan Patrol?
To change the spark plugs in your Nissan Patrol, consult the repair manual for specific instructions. Generally, the process involves removing the ignition coil or spark plug wire, unscrewing the old spark plug, and installing the new one. Take care not to overtighten the spark plugs and ensure the correct gap is set.
How often should I change the engine oil in my Nissan Patrol?
It is recommended to change the engine oil in your Nissan Patrol every 6,000 to 7,500 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first. Regular oil changes help maintain engine performance and prolong its lifespan by providing proper lubrication and minimizing wear and tear. Neglecting regular oil changes can result in reduced engine efficiency and potential damage.
How often should I replace the air filter in my Nissan Patrol?
The air filter in your Nissan Patrol should be replaced every 15,000 to 30,000 miles or as recommended in the vehicle’s maintenance schedule. A clean air filter allows for proper air intake, preventing debris and dust from entering the engine. Regularly replacing the air filter helps maintain engine performance, fuel efficiency, and prolongs the life of the engine components.
How often should I replace the timing belt in my Nissan Patrol?
The timing belt in your Nissan Patrol should be replaced every 60,000 to 90,000 miles or as recommended in the vehicle’s maintenance schedule. A worn or damaged timing belt can lead to catastrophic engine failure, so it is crucial to follow the suggested replacement intervals. Additionally, it is also advisable to inspect the timing belt for signs of wear during routine maintenance.
What is the recommended tire pressure for my Nissan Patrol?
The recommended tire pressure for your Nissan Patrol can be found in the owner’s manual or on a sticker located on the driver’s side door jamb. It is important to maintain the correct tire pressure as specified by the manufacturer to ensure optimal handling, fuel efficiency, and tire longevity. Regularly check and adjust the tire pressure, especially before long trips or when carrying heavier loads.
What type of coolant should I use in my Nissan Patrol?
For optimal cooling system performance, use a high-quality ethylene glycol-based coolant that meets the specifications outlined in the Nissan Patrol repair manual. This coolant should be mixed with distilled water in a 50:50 ratio. Using the correct coolant and maintaining the proper coolant level is essential to prevent overheating and ensure efficient engine operation.
